Hello again!
This will be the last post of the week. Hope you've enjoyed checking out what we've been up to this past week!
On Friday, we started the morning working on students' contributions to the program magazine which will be distributed to everyone including students and host families at the end of the program. Students are writing poems, drawing chateaus, writing articles and creating games for the magazine. We're excited to see how this lovely collections turns out!
Post this, the two groups did their grammar & communication as well as literature classes. We're reaching the end of the course material and next week will be the finale where students will present a book they read as well as they'll take the last evaluation exam to see the progress they've made. Each day, thanks to Martin's grammar and communication class, the students learn popular proverbs and usages and they enthusiastically try to use it throughout the day!
Post lunch, we split in to our respective theater and music groups and continued practicing for the farewell show. Here is an example of a how hard music practice can be ;) !
At 4.30pm, we headed to play "Boule de fort", a regional specificity and let me tell you, it is very unique! It's a very calm sport that requires patience and of course talent! We all took turns playing the sport under the expert guidance of veterans of the game who have won championships for this particular club. Mayor of Distré, M. Néron joined us for this activity and played a bit too. He was very encouraging and interacted kindly with all the students. Overall, this was a truly immersive experience because we would otherwise never get an opportunity to play this game. Whether the students would go back to play it is a whole other matter ;) maybe it's a bit too calm for them, and for me too!
Leaving you here with fun pictures of the activity.
Until next week!
