Week 5...our last week in Saumur

Hello everyone!
And before we knew it, we entered Week 5 of our program! Time has flown by for us here but maybe it has been a bit slower at your end and you're eagerly awaiting the students' safe return home.  You just need to wait a little bit longer :)

This week began with a regular day of classes on Monday. The students also used any free time they could get to complete their submissions for the program magazine which will be printed and distributed on Friday during the farewell show. Students have contributed articles, poems, games and their artwork for the magazine which we know will turn out wonderful!
Tuesday was a special day because it was the last day of coursework for the program. In their last literature & culture class, each student presented a book they had chosen to read during the program.
Everyone presented confidently and passionately and to see the amount of progress they have made in the past 5 weeks is incredible!
Here are pictures of everyone presenting their books.

On Tuesday evening, we also visited residents of an old age home in Saumur. The choir sang a song for them and the theater group performed a small play they created themselves. The group also sang the French and American national anthems and then they spread out and spent some time with each resident. The interaction was wonderful and the residents were very happy meeting these students. They said the students were very nice and were like a sprinkle of youth! Here are some lovely photos for you all to enjoy!

Until next time!
Ciao!
