Week 5 - Farewell show part 1

Hello everyone!
I apologize for the long gap between this post and the last. Our last three days in Saumur kept us all very busy and the photos for the farewell show were on Liz B's camera and we finally made the transfer yesterday, in the bus to Paris! Due to internet trouble, I couldn't get this post out sooner. I hope to make it up with lots of fun photos for you! Last week, on Wednesday, other than taking their end of the program exam, they also presented their partner's likes and dislikes using their designs from orientation day at IU. The only difference? They did this completely in French and even added a few details because they now know each other better.

On Thursday, the students spent all day practicing their performances for the show.

For lunch, we walked to the foodcourt of the mall and then the students got an hour of free time to spend in the mall. This was because we were officially done with classes and the exam so one hour study time changed to free time in the mall! Post lunch the students practiced some more for the show and then left school at 4pm. The next day, Friday July 12, we started the day with our final support and success group meeting. Here's Martin's group and here's mine. This group was meant as a support and discussion group to help all students adjust to the different challenges of the program and also to celebrate everyday successes with one another.

Following this, we spent all day rehearsing and doing run-throughs. we rehearsed positions for each piece and we checked the overall sound on the microphones. We ironed out whatever creases we could. We headed to Crescendo for our last lunch there and then we continued rehearsing for the farewell show till 4pm.

The farewell show began at 8pm and here are a few pictures taken just before the show.

Stay tuned for pictures of the farewell show and then Day 1 in Paris!
